You may remember that I need a ton of birthday cards in January so here is another one. I am in love with Ink To Paper and Papertrey Ink so I am using another one of their charming stamp and die sets: Simply Sweet: Sending.
This set features a semi-circle of hearts in different sizes and other fun stuff. Since many of the stamps and dies are in a semi-circle pattern, I thought it would be a lot of fun to make a complete circles of them to decorate this card.
So, to get started, I stamped two semi-circles of two of the sizes of stamps onto Neenah 110 lb. white, then cut them out with the matching dies. Next, I colored the hearts with a few Copic markers: Y38, R20, R22.
To continue the circle theme, I stamped two semi-circles of ‘rays’ with Ink To Paper’s Raspberry Fizz ink and then sprinkled them with clear embossing powder and heat set them. This gave them a pretty glossy finish. They were then cut out with the matching die.
Next, I stamped with Versamark Ink the half-circle stamp onto a small piece of Neenah 110 lb. white. Then stamped it again by rotating it 180 degrees, making a complete circle. It was then sprinkled with gold embossing powder and heat set. To cut it out, I used a circle die that was slightly larger than the embossed circle.
With a bunch of pieces ready, I needed a base for all of them. So, starting with a white card base, I added on top a Desert Storm border that was cut with the ‘Rectangle’ die and the ‘Tin Stitch’ border die. Next, I cut a decorative rectangle using one of the decorative borders in the Penny Black Stitched Loops die set and Neenah 110lb. white. This border was adhered on top of the Tin Stitched border for the next layer.
Now it was time to add the two circles of hearts, the two pink ‘rays’ and the gold embossed circle on top. To cover the unions of the semi-circles, I cut a banner from black licorice card stock and using the Ink To Paper’s Banner Basics and stamped the ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment (found in the cute little mini set: Sweet Celebrations-see below) with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
The last step was to adhere the banner with two tiny hearts (from the die set) to the center with a bit of foam tape. ♥
