We hope you are all safe and healthy. We are all doing well too and are delighted to feature a lovely card design using ‘Timeless“, another beautiful stamp by Penny Black.
This one starts with the flower, of course. The flower was stamped onto hot-pressed watercolor paper with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with rose gold embossing powder.
Using a collection distress inks, namely: Spun sugar, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry and a touch of Wild Honey for the blossom and Peeled Paint, Forest Moss and a bit of Scattered Straw for the leaves, I watercolored the flower.
While I was waiting for the flower to dry, I cut a narrow 2 7/8″x 5 1/2″ strip of Bristol paper for the background. Using a few pink colored pencils from the InkTense pencil set, I shaded the strip by starting at the bottom with a more intense pink color. As I moved to the top, I went lighter and lighter. After the panel was done, I rubbed on Gamsol with my finger which blended the colors even more.
Next, I prepared a white card stock panel and randomly stamped the front a few times with the flower stamp and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
To put it together, I cut a strip of Cinnamon Silk texture paper, slightly larger than the narrow strip colored with pencils. Then the colored panel was mounted on top and foam strips added to the back of the whole panel. The panel was then mounted on the card base, slightly offset.
The flower was fussy-cut out and foam tape added to the back. Before mounting the flower, I tied on a tiny tag cut from Penny Black’s Gift Card Pocket die set that I had hand-lettered ‘for you’ using an oblique pen and Dr. PH. Martin’s Rose Lame ink (or conversely, you can stamp the ‘for you’ on the tag using the Happy Snippet stamp set by Penny Black (see supply list)).
The final step was to mount the flower …. and there you have it. All done!♥
