Hi Crafty Friends,
I am pleased as punch to join you today and share an adorable stamp set by Julian Charlton and Purple Onion Designs. The stamp is Lottie’s Gang Squad Hug. It features the cutest pigs, fox, and little girl, plus sentiments that are priceless. I especially like “love you pig time”. That one really tickles my funny bone so I can’t resist using it!
I am letting the awesome illustration of these characters speak for themselves with this very simple, CAS (clean and simple) card design.
To start, I cut a white card panel from Neenah white card stock (110lb.) and stamped the image with MFT’s Extreme Black hybrid ink. This is an alcohol marker friendly ink so it was perfect for the Copic coloring.
I kept the coloring ultra simple with only a hint color. For the pigs I used R0000, Ro1, and R20. The girl was colored with Y0000, Y08, Y11, BG00, BG01, E00 (skin) and the fox with E21, E99, YR09, and C3 for his ears.
With the coloring done, I was ready to mount it onto a slightly larger card base (A2). I choose black for the base to make it super simple.
Then, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink onto a black card stock strip and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I chose to trim the strip to be a bit asymmetrical to add to the whimsy of the art.
And there we have it, a delightfully silly card to send to anyone that needs a virtual hug! ♥
