Ghostly Greetings For This Halloween

Ghostly Greetings For This Halloween

Hello Fellow Crafters,

Halloween is nearly upon us so I just had to share a quick Halloween card. This card was made for my little 6 years old granddaughter and it is filled with everything Halloween is made of!

To begin, I gathered up all my Halloween stamps in search for the most iconic Halloween stamps. I chose the pumpkin, spider, spider-web, stars and greeting from the My Favorite Things Fab-BOO-lous Friends stamp set and the moon from MFT’s Happy Haunting. The bat was from the Impression Obsession’s Boo Balloons.

I stamped the pumpkin and bat onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored them with Copic Markers. I didn’t have a stamp for the candy corn so I drew a simple puffy triangle and colored them with Copic Markers.

Next, I cut two My Favorite Things Stitched Collage frames, one in black card stock and the other in Bristol paper. Using the Bristol colored inserts, I stamped the moon and stars on one of the large inserts, the greeting on the other. I embossed them both with clear embossing powder.

For the smaller inserts, I stamped the spider web, sprinkled clear embossing powder and heat set. The spider was stamped separately onto a piece of scrap paper, sprinkled liberally with black embossing powder and heat set-now he is sooo glossy! The final small insert was stamped with the little candies from the Happy Hauntings stamp set and colored with markers.

Once everything was colored, using a blending tool, I colored the edges of the inserts with distress oxide inks. The smaller inserts were colored with Seedless Preserves for the pumpkin space, half Seedless Preserves and Spiced Marmalade for the center spider insert and Fossilized Amber for the top. The larger inserts were colored with the same distress oxide inks, following the colors of the smaller inserts.

To assemble, starting with a Circus Peanuts (orange) cardstock card base, the purple diagonal stripe paper panel was placed on top, the inserts were arranged in order. Then, acetate was added to the lower larger opening of the black frame of the Stitched Collage.  Foam tape was added to all the edges of the black frame. Black, purple and orange sequins was sprinkled onto the greetings insert and the black frame was positioned over top. The pumpkin, spider and candy corn were added with the help of a little foam tape.

And there you have it, a shaker card with all the Halloween makings!

Oh, I almost forgot… to give a little dimension, green eyes and red fang teeth were added to the bat with Nuvo crystal drops. The spider got red eyes from Nuvo crystal drops and Ranger black enamel accents. Finally, black enamel accents were added to the pumpkin’s eyes and teeth.

  1. Adorable Halloween Shaker card! The Nuvo drops made great eyes and teeth – so smart. Love how you colored the squares around the edges. It really sets off each square!
