Happy Birthday from Lottie’s Gang

Happy Birthday from Lottie’s Gang

Hi Crafty Friends,

I am sharing a new card design using a stamp set from the brand new Julian Charlton series by Purple Onion Designs. Every one of the stamps in this series has super cute critters and fun sentiments to match. Today’s project features Lottie and her gang. The pigs are adorable and the girl and fox add to the bunch.

I started by stamping the stacking birthday ‘gang’ onto a piece of Neenah white card stock using My Favorite Things Extreme Black Hybrid, an alcohol ink marker friendly ink. Then, I colored each of these delightful characters with Copic markers. Here is a list of the colors I used.

After the coloring was done, I fussy cut out the outline of the stacking ‘gang’, mounted foam tape on the back and set it aside while I made the background.

The background was created by stamping the Hero Arts Abstract Fields image onto a piece of Antique Gray card stock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Next, I trimmed the panel down and added Papertrey Ink’s Weathervane ink to the bottom with a blending tool. I continued to add and blend color, feathering the ink intensity as I worked my way to the half way point of the panel.

With the background done, I cut two circles from Neenah Kraft paper, stacked and glued them together. Then, added a white “stitching” line around the inside of the circle using a white gel pen.

All the pieces were ready to assemble. So… I adhered the kraft circle to the background, trimming off one end. Then, added the adorable Lottie’s Gang. Next, I stamped one of the birthday sentiments from the stamp set with Versamark ink onto a strip of black card stock and white heat embossed it, then mounted it onto the front.

The only thing left was to tie some black and white twine to the top and add a few enamel dots!
