Hi there my crafty friends,

I have something bright and cheerful to share with you today. This ‘lemon lush’ stamp from Pinkfresh Studio is such a beauty. It’s a nice big 6″x 6″ rubber stamp full of lemons, leaves, and flowers. I have several versions on the go with this stamp and this is the first one I’ve turned into a card.
I stamped on a piece of hot-pressed watercolor paper with Brutus Monroe raven ink and embossed in raven powder. With a bold black outline in place, I began water-coloring with Peerless watercolor paints. I pulled up a reference photo on my phone so I could pick appropriate colors for the lemons and leaves then painted the lemon slices with a yellow and pale orange, leaves in two greens, and the whole lemon with a gradation of yellow to orange starting with a pale yellow then adding a darker yellow towards the edges, then a pale orange and finally a darker orange right on the edge.

I kept the large flowers subtle by painting with water first then dropping some mauve ink into the center to blend outwards. The little flowers are one shade of blue dabbed with a paper towel to take out some of the depth and provide some shadow. When it came to the berries I switched to the lilac brush marker and then ran the canary brush marker around the inside edge of the lemon rind to add just a line of yellow while leaving the pith white.

I popped up a stamped sentiment, it’s from floral notes, and then added some clear enamel dots on three of the cut lemons.

  1. I’ve had my eye on this stamp for some time and have enjoyed the samples made by the PF designers. But I really love your card and for me personally, it’s a more achievable style. Beautiful design!
