‘Tis The Season Holiday Card

‘Tis The Season Holiday Card

Hello Everyone,

The Holidays are upon us and I don’t know about you, but I have tons to do. One of those things is to share my backlog of cards. So, here is another.

If you like to die cut, then you are going to love this card. The only stamping is the ‘Tis The Season sentiment, all the rest are all die cut pieces…. so let’s get started!

I started with a few things in hand: 1. Licorice Twist black card base, 2. red and white diagonal paper (I created mine with the My Favorite Things Bold Diagonal Stripes background stamp and Lawn Fawn red lobster ink or you can simply use a sheet from the My Favorite Things Hearts and Stripes paper pack – set them aside for now.

With a Licorice Twist black cardstock panel, I drew light diagonal lines with my chalk pencil. I just eye-balled the first slanted line in the middle and with my trusty C-thru L ruler, added more lines evenly spaced (the ruler makes it a cinch!) Then, using the ‘Tis the Season sentiment in the Concord & 9th Joy stamp set and white Yeti ink from Lawn Fawn, I stamped along the lines consecutively.

To get all the other elements together, I started by cutting:
1. a few white snowflakes from Impression Obsession’s Small Snowflake die set. Any snowflake dies will do, check out the supply list below for more details.
2. three wreaths (two in dark green and 1 in lighter green), and one bow from the Penny Black Wreath & Bow die set.
3. one My Favorite Things “Joy” from white cardstock.

For the red bow and red Joy, I first applied a square of Stick-It to a piece of red cardstock, cut out the bow and “Joy”, then peeled the release paper off from the Stick-it side and liberally sprinkled Elizabeth Craft Fine Red Glitter. This is a slick way to get an even layer of glitter.

The last thing to do before the assembly of the card was to create the white cardstock border. For this, I used one of the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle Stackables, centered it on a piece of white cardstock and cut it. I removed the scalloped panel it cut and used only the remaining border. You can save the scalloped panel for another project!

Finally, it is time to assemble – YAY! The red and white diagonal panel was applied to the top of the card base, next was the “Tis the Season” panel on top of the diagonal paper. The white scalloped border was added with a little foam tape adhered to the back. Next, the three green wreaths were attached, plus the snowflakes.

The final touch was to glue (slightly off-center) the white and red glitter bow together. Do the same with the ‘Joy’, then attached them to the wreath with little bits of foam tape.

Whew! Another Holiday card ready to send out!
