How To Create A Best Mom Ever Card + video

Hi there,

Mother’s Day is nearly here! I am squeezing in one more card before the big day. But, like most cards, just simply change the sentiment and the card design is ready for another occasion.

I had loads of fun making this one and it came together in a snap with the help of the Concord & 9th Wreath Turnabout and My Favorite Things Mom die and matching sentiments.

This card starts with the Wreath turnabout. Concord & 9th really outdid themselves when they designed this one. You can see in the video below how using four coordinating colors of ink creates a stunning wreath.

I chose four Delicata inks for the wreath. It is really hard to see in the pictures, but the Delicata inks have a beautiful shimmer to them. It is subtle but very elegant. In the image below, it looks as though the ink is not covering, but in real life it is actually the reflection of the shimmer.

The sentiment is created using the bold ‘mom’ die from My Favorite Things. The ‘mom’ was die-cut from a sturdy pink cardstock, Candy Hearts. For a list of all the goodies used, check below.

The ‘Best.Mom.Ever’ sentiment is from the ‘All About Mom’ sentiment set by My Favorite Things. It was stamped with Versamark ink onto a piece of heavy brown cardstock, Peanut Fudge, then sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat embossed.

This last image gives you a peek into the inside of the card, where a simple stamping was made onto the inside of the Shimmer Quartz card base.

For the final touch, several enamel dots were added for extra pizazz and dimension!
