Happy Spring

Happy Spring

Hi Creative Friends,

We are sharing a super cute little bunny that is all ready for Spring and the Easter season. He is from the new Hero Arts Spring Bunny stamp and dies bundle. And bundle is right! This set is chocked full of bunnies, butterflies, flowers, and sweet sentiments, plus it includes the dies too.

This card is a simple but fun card to make. It starts with a panel cut out of Concord & 9th Clover paper using the Spellbinder’s Notched Cornered Frame Dies. Another panel and matching A2-sized card base was made using Neenah 11l0lb. white card stock. The panel was added to the front of the card base, and the corners were rounded using a Rounded Chomper (see supply list below).

Next, the bunny, flowers, and butterfly were stamped with Dove ink and colored with alcohol markers. This is a simple coloring. Here are the colors used:

After coloring, the elements were cut out using the matching (and included in the set!) dies.

Hero Arts has a new die called Butterfly Foliage Fancy die. It is a super sweet die that cuts out leafy bits—perfect for our bunny to nibble on! We used lighter green card stock again from the Concord & 9th assorted cardstock.

Now that we had most of the elements complete, we could temporarily arrange them to estimate where the sentiment should go. We used the “Happy Spring” sentiment and stamped the notched panel with Versamark ink (that was after we prepped it with anti-static powder, of course), then heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. The panel was then backed with foam and added to the front of the card.

To finish the scene, we hand-cut a piece of dark green card stock for the bunny’s ground, tucked a section of the leafy cut-out behind, and then affixed it to the notched panel. The flowers, bunny, and butterfly were added with foam squares.

Finally, a few white dots were added using a Posca fine pen.

Thank you for joining us today for our first dip into Spring. We hope to see you next time!
