Hello, Sweet Friend

Hi Creative Friends,

Our shop has a new stamp and cut set by Hero Arts called Chirp. It is so sweet and perfect for Spring with its newly hatched chick and its Mom nestled into their nest!

I love these sets that include both the stamp and die in one set. It makes it easy to create a special project in no time!

I started by stamping the pieces onto white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. This is my preferred ink when using alcohol markers.

Next, I used a few markers to color the chick, nest, and bird, then cut them out using the matching dies.

For the foliage, I used Spellbinder’s Scallop Journal die set. It had the perfect-sized greenery and flowers. These pieces were cut out of scraps of colored cardstock, assembled and set aside while I created the foundation of the card.

Using white cardstock, I made an A2-sized card base and cut a panel the same size. The panel was embossed using the Bold Floral embossing folder by Spellbinders and attached to the front of the card base.

Using one of my favorite die sets by Penny Black, Soaring, I cut two whirly frames, then stacked and glued them together. I added it to the front of the card base. I used the center of one of the frames, smoothed on Speckled Egg distress ink for a touch of blue sky, and added it to the center.

My card design was coming together. I just needed to arrange and press into place the nest, birds, flowers, and leaves. I used foam squares to pop them up!

Now, the only thing left was the sentiment. I chose one from the Mini Messages set by Honey Bee Stamps. This set is packed with sweet sentiments to choose from. A sentiment was chosen, then stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink and cut out using the matching Mini Messages die set.

The sentiment was popped up with foam squares and pressed into place to finish this sweet card design.
