Graceful Flowers

Graceful Flowers

Hi Creative Friends,

Today, I’m sharing a clean and simple card that comes together quickly but packs a big, beautiful, flowery punch! As you know, Penny Black has awesome floral stamps with incredible detail. The ‘At Grace‘ cling/rubber stamp is just that!

You only need a few supplies to make this fun color-resist card, and as I mentioned, you can make it in a hurry.

I started with a 5″x7″ hot pressed watercolor paper, the At Grace stamp, and a few inks. The panel was mounted in my stamp positioner, and then the stamp was strategically arranged over the panel.

The panel was then prepped well with anti-static powder, the stamp was inked with Versamark ink, and then stamped onto the panel. I inked and stamped three times to get a very good impression and making sure the embossing powder has lots to cling to.

Next, I sprinkled it with white embossing powder, tapped it out, and heat-set the embossing powder with my heat tool. Before using my heat tool, I examined the panel carefully and whisked off any errant bits of embossing powder with a brush before heat-setting the powder.

To fill the spaces on the panel, I repositioned the stamp and stamped again, again, and again… 3 times, just like before. – making sure I prepped the panel with anti-static powder before stamping. The second stamping was white heat embossed, too.

Now for the fun part… I spritzed the panel liberally with water, then started adding color. I used a few Concord & 9th inks, namely Nectar, Honeysuckle, Wildberry, and a dash of Buttercup. The different colors of ink were added in patches, adding drama to the panel. When I was pleased with the result, I dried the panel with my heat tool and mounted it onto a matching card base.

For the sentiment, I used the Concord & 9th – Kristina Werner Written Words sentiment set. The sentiment was stamped onto white card stock using Versamark ink and gold heat-embossed with gold embossing powder. The sentiment was cut out using the matching dies and mounted to finish the card.

The second card was created using all the same steps as the first. Only this time, the 5″x7″ panel was stamped vertically, and different inks were used. The inks were Shaded Lilac, Chipped Sapphire, Stormy Sky, and Crushed Olive, all distress inks.

The sentiment was stamped directly onto the panel when the painting was finished and completely dry. The sentiment was from the Birthday Wishes stamp set by Penny Black. I used Versafine Clair Medieval Blue.

The floral panel was trimmed and mounted onto a slightly larger ‘Night’ card stock panel, then mounted onto a white card stock card base. A few clear jewels were added for a little extra pizazz!

I hope you enjoyed today’s crafty adventure. Please leave a comment on our blog and/or Instagram (@foiledfox) on which you like best. It will enter you in a drawing for a $25 gift certificate!
