Everything Is Coming Up Roses

Everything Is Coming Up Roses

Hi Creative Friends,

In the last release of Concord & 9th and Kristina Werner, there were some awesome stamps and dies. One of them is the Long Line Roses set. Included in the set are a stamp, die, and stencil. I used all three of them for my project today. The set is well-thought-out and is beautiful too!

As is often true with me, I wasn’t sure of the layout, so I started with the flowers. That always gets the creative juices flowing.

I stamped the flowers using Concord & 9th inks.Wildberry for the flowers and Juniper for the leaves. Then, using the matching stencils and blending brushes, I blended on Nectar, Honeysuckle, and Wildberry for the flowers and Eucalyptus and Juniper for the leaves. Kristina has marked all the stencils to indicate when to use light, medium, or dark ink. It is absolutely foolproof if you follow her instructions!!

When all was done, the pieces were cut out using the coordinating dies.

Next, I cut out some foliage using Penny Black’s Ascending and Mint cardstock and Honey Bee Stamps Spring Greenery and Blue Spruce cardstock, then set them aside for now.

For the background and the foundational base, I used a white 5″x7″ card base, then cut a matching white cardstock 5″x7″ panel. The panel was added to the front of the card base. Next, I embossed a vellum panel using the Burlap embossing folder by Honey Bee Stamps, then rubbed Antique Linen distress inks over the top. The burlap panel was added to the front of the card base.

Next up was the frame. Using an Eucalyptus 5″x7″ panel, I cut a section out of the center using another one of Kristina Werner’s sets, A7 Thin Frames. As an afterthought, I stamped on a gingham plaid pattern using a My Favorite Things stamp (see supply list) and Eucalyptus ink.

The frame was backed with foam tape to pop it up, then added to the front.

The foliage and flowers were arranged and added with foam squares. I stamped one of the sentiments from the set with Versafine Clair Shady Lane ink and cut it out with the matching dies to finish the card.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you enjoyed it and will give it a whirl!
