Violets In Bloom
Hi Creative Friends,
I saw a beautiful card with an awesome layout by Elizabeth Price (IG: @seeinginkspots). I have had it in mind for some time now, and finally, I’m going to give it a go.
I used a few rectangular die sets by Penny Black and Into The Blooms: Violets for my flowers.

I started with a sheet each of Alabaster cardstock by Spellbinders and Neenah 110lb. white cardstock. Using the alabaster paper, I cut a 5 5/8″ x 7 3/4″ pane,l then scored 3″ from the edge and folded it over. Before I go any further, I could have made the panel so that when it was folded, it would be an A2-sized card. I chose to make it a tiny bit larger so that there would be more border around the various panels.
Next, I cut a white cardstock panel using Penny Black’s Dainty Dashes die set’s largest die. and then a smaller panel cut from Alabaster cardstock using Stitched Stackers by Penny Black. The only foundation piece left to cut was a white cardstock circle.
To complete the base, I mounted the white card panel on the large side (right side) and mounted the Alabaster smaller panel to the smaller left side. The circle was added on top.

I also cut a large strip and stamped it with a Happy Birthday sentiment using Versafine Clair Chianti ink. My go-to stamp and die set for almost all my Happy Birthday sentiments is the Papertrey Ink Birthday Your Way set.
Next, I made a bunch of flowers (three sets) using the Into the Blooms: Violets, and ink-blended each set with a different color. I used Nectar, Honeysuckle, and a combination of Honeysuckle and Briar Rose for the third set, and all the leaves were colored with Lemongrass and Artichoke.
The flowers were assemble,d and Buttercup yellow centers were added.

With the assembled base back in hand, I popped up the sentiment strip with foam strips, then arranged the flowers around the front of the card. They were mounted with foam squares
And there we have it… my first card with Elizabeth Price’s layout. I loved it! I hope you liked it too! ♥
