Sailing Dreams
Hi Creative Friends,
It is officially summer, which means its time for vacation or at least more leisurely days. To help get us in the mood, I chose the new Build-A-Saliboat die set by Papertrey Ink. I love the simplicity and fun elements in this set and I think it is fabulous for a male, young or old.

All that is required to make this card was a few sheets and scraps of colored cardstock. There isn’t one bit of ink-blended involved for this card.
With this in mind, I started with a 5″x7″ white card stock card base and a matching white cardstock panel. Then, the white panel was adhered to front of the card base.
Next, I cut a 4″x6″ Windy blue cardstock panel. I will use this panel to build my scene but first i added it to the front of the card..
I cut out the pieces of the sailboard using white, Poppy red, Candy Buttons blue for the water and white and fog for the clouds. Other bits of colored paper used were used for the seagulls and the sun.

The pieces for the boat are easy to assemble. To make the striped sail, I cut a white and red sail, then cut every other section out and glued them to the white sail.
For the sun, I cut out a large circle from Beeswax yellow cardstock, then used a few alcohol markers to make an ombre of yellow.
With all the pieces cut and the boat assembled, it was just a matter of arranging and applying the pieces to the front light blue panel.

Since I am all out of birthday cards for my male friends and family, I white heat embossed ‘Happy Birthday’ onto black Raven cardstock, then added it to the card front
That finished my project for today. I hope you enjoyed and will give it a whirl! ♥
