Welcome Little One

Welcome Little One

Hi Cardmaking Friends,

We have a new addition to our extended family. So, we needed a cute baby card in a hurry.

We reached for an older set by Papertrey Ink called Little One. It includes adorable baby goodies, perfect for making our card design!

To begin, we created a cloud background using a cloud stencil from Lawn Fawn (see supply list below) and a Bristol paper panel. Using our blending brush and stencil, we started at the bottom with Nectar ink and worked our way up using Honeysuckle, Harbot, and a lightly smattering of Blueberry near the top.

Next, we cut a scalloped panel* and two Skinny Star frames from white cardstock. We then cut out all the pieces in the Little One die set. Again, we used Bristol paper for easy ink blending.

The adorable ‘Baby” letters, clouds, stars, and moon were stamped using the inks listed below. To give a little glimmer and sparkle, we stamped the stars and moon with Delicata Gold ink. A truly luscious metallic ink.

Time to pull it all together! Using a light, Windy blue card stock, we created a card base. The cloud background created earlier was trimmed and mounted on top of the card base. The two Skinny Star frames were next. They were stacked and glued together, then added to the front of the card.

Using foam squares, the scalloped panel was mounted in the center, and all the sweet baby elements were arranged and pressed into place using more foam squares. That was all there was to it!

This “Little One’ set is a perfect one to have in your stash so you are ready for your next arrival!

* The scalloped die used has been discontinued, but an excellent substitute is the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle Stackables. It has lots of sizes in the set. We have included it in our supply list for yoru convenience.
