Spooky Delights
Hi Creative People,
I love to make Halloween cards, so the new Spooky Delights by Papertrey Ink was right up my alley! It is filled with all the fun Halloween icons, including a skeleton with all the trimmings.

I started by stamping and cutting out all the pieces in the stamp and die set. Here is a guide to the colors of ink I used:
Skeleton, spider, cobwebs, sentiments, and candlestick: VersaClair Nocturne
Witch’s hat: Fig and Black for shading
Pumpkins: Buttercup, Clementine, Spiced Cider, and Pimento
Apple: Honeysuckle and Poppy
Broom: Wheat, Buttercup, and Clementine
Bucket: Weathered wood and Pumice Stone distress inks
Door: Fresh Snow
Shiplap background: Dove
With all the pieces done, I set them aside while I created a backdrop for all the goodies.

I used a white cardstock card base and a matching white and gray Fog front panel. The gray panel was adhered to the front of the card base, and the white panel was cut into different-sized strips. Each strip’s edges were colored with a light gray ink like Concord & 9th Dove ink, then attached to the front of the card, leaving a tiny gap between strips. Any excess was trimmed off. A white cardstock frame was made by cutting another panel the same size as the front, then using a rectangle from the Hero Arts Infinity Rectangle set, cut out the center.
The frame was added to the front of the card. A black cardstock door and its pieces were cut out. Each piece was swiped with white ink to give a weathered look, then assembled.
Time to bring everything together.
The door was backed with foam and attached to the front. The skeleton was tucked into the door so only a bit of him showed. The skeleton has to undergo a little surgery by disconnecting the left side arm from the knee, and the right arm (as you face him) has to be carefully removed, then glued back on.
All the other goodies were arranged and adhered with foam squares.
The only thing left was ‘BOO!’ stamped on a strip and attached.

And there we have it… my latest Halloween card. It was a blast to make!… give it a whirl! ♥
