Merry & Bright
Hi Cardmaking Friends,
Today I am using an oldie but goodie, the Ornament Greetings by Papertrey Ink. This set has charming ornaments, wonderful accents, and sentiments to make a lovely Christmas/holiday project.

I started making the main attraction, the ornaments. I cut out two ornaments using a small piece of watercolor paper, then stamped the patterns on each using Versamark ink. They were white heat-embossed,
The ornaments were spritzed liberally with water and I used a few distress reinkers and inks to color. The colors I used were Saltwater Taffy, Festive Berries, Seedless Preserves, and Weathered Wood. I let the color mingle, creating a glass ornament look.
Next, I used the beautiful Winter Greenery die set by Honey Bee Stamps to cut out the foliage.. This set has all the pieces to make a beautiful spray of wintery foliage. I used Bristol paper and ink-blended on a few colors. You can check out the inks I used in the supply list below.
With the main elements done, I moved on to the background. Using a eucalyptus cardstock panel, I stenciled a pattern using the Holiday Berries stencil and Rainforest ink, then mounted it on a slightly larger eucalyptus card base.

Since I hadn’t received the new rectangle frames from Papertrey Ink yet, I used Papertrey’s rounded rectangle set. I taped two dies together to create a frame. Then cut out the frame and center from white cardstock in one fell swoop.
The created frame was popped up with foam squares, and the frame and center were added to the front of the card base. From there, I arranged and secured the evergreen branches to the front of the card, then mounted the ornaments with more foam squares.
For the sentiment, I gold heat-embossed ‘Merry & Bright” from the Christmas Your Way sentiment set and added it to the card front.

To complete the card design, gold foil bows (from the Build-A-Tree Christmas Tree die set) were cut and added to the tops of the ornaments. Then, though it is hard to see in the pics, a little extra sparkle was added with the help of Stardust glitter Stickles.
I hope you enjoyed my project today. It is always fun to use an oldie but goodie! ♥
