Warm Winter Wishes
Hi Creative Friends,
We are jumping into December with a few fast, easy, but very festive card designs. Our design today fits all the criteria! This adorable penguin from the Spellbinders Dancin’ Penguin die set sets the stage for some winter fun!

The penguin is so easy to make. It was simply a matter of selecting a few colors of cardstock, cutting, and assembling them. I colored the scarf and his rosy cheeks with alcohol markers. Because I am lazy, instead of dragging out the gold paper, I colored the star with gold ink. In hindsight, I should have used a tiny scrap of glitter paper. It is always maddening to finish a project only to discover simple things you could have done to make it even better – ugh!
I debated whether to use a light blue background or this pink. In the end, I went with the non-traditional Bellini pink and added snowfall to the panel. The Snowfall texture paste and Snowfall stencil from Pretty Pink Posh made a wonderful snowy background.

Using a couple of oval dies, I first cut an oval from white cardstock and then cut the oval again with another oval die to get the ice pond for my penguin.
The sentiment is from a charming holiday sentiment set called Merry Messages Betterpress plate from Spellbinders. With this set, you can make a bunch of sentiments at one time.

I was in a hurry to finish this post, so I didn’t make a tag using this penguin die, but he sure would be cute as a tag too! ♥
