Bunny Love

today I am showcasing another couple of new goodies from Penny Black. With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, I thought a ‘heart’ card design was in order.
The new goodies I used were Heart Hops and Heart Trio. The Heart Hops stamp and coordinating die set feature adorable bunny critters and a sentiment of two. The Heart Trio dies are a set of sweet hearts on a stick.
I started by cutting out three ‘LOVE’s” using the Penny Black Immense Love die from Poppy red card stock. This die was released a few years ago, but it is still a popular and wonderfully versatile die to have. After the words were cut out, they were stacked and glued together, then set aside for now.
Next was the cute little bunny. He was stamped with alcohol marker-friendly ink onto white cardstock and colored with a few Copic markers, then cut out using the matching die set.
The Heart Trio die set was next. I cut them from white cardstock and colored them, but they could have just as easily been cut from colored cardstock. Whatever your pleasure.
A white cardstock card base was made, and a matching panel cut fromSpellbinders Bellini (peachy-pink) cardstock. Using the panel, I made my own patterned paper by creating a plaid design. The Concord & 9th-Kristina Werner Layered Plaid stencils were perfect for this job. The Bellini cardstock was a great starting point, and Honeysuckle and Poppy were the two colors used to blend colors.
I needed a couple more panels before putting it all together. I cut an A2-sized white cardstock panel and stenciled on sweet little hearts using the Papertrey Ink At The Bottom stencil collection. Then, cut a slightly larger Poppy red panel.
The only thing left to do was to layer up the card base. So… the plaid paper was the first panel to go on top of the front of the card base, then the Poppy layer, and finally the tiny heat-trimmed panel. The ‘LOVE’ word was next, along with the adorable bunny and his two heart balloons.
The card is complete and ready to send for Valentine’s Day – YAY! ♥
