Let Kindness Fill Your Steps

Hi Creative Cardmakers,

I am sharing a new card design that features the stunning Heart Bloom stamp and die set. This stamp set is another beauty from Penny Black The floral heart is perfect way to send love to your favorite person, but it is the spray of flowers that I am using today. The spray is so beautiful and graceful!

I began with a 5″x7″ hot-pressed card panel, Penny Black Background Basics stencil set, a few distress inks (Lost Shadow and Tattered Rose), the new Waffle Flower Background Blender brush, and a stamp positioner.

With the watercolor paper and one of the stencils from the Background Basics pack, I centered the stencil and very lightly blended on first Lost Shadow, then a dash of Tattered Rose distress ink to warm the colors. I was careful not to apply too much ink where the floral sprays would go.

Next, I mounted the panel in my stamp positioner, then positioned the floral spray stamp in the lower left corner. I lightly stamped it with Lost Shadow ink, then, using a small brush, I started painting. The colors I used were Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord, Seedless Preserves, and a touch of Villainous Potion for the flowers, and Iced Spruce, Evergreen Bough, and Forest Moss for the leaves. I like to use reinkers when I can, as the ink is very intense and I only need a tiny dot of it.

Hint: I never remove my panel from my positioner until all the painting is done. That way, whenever I need to sharpen the lines, I restamp the areas where needed.

Once that spray of flowers was painted, I repositioned the stamp in the upper right corner. This time, masking off part of the stamp, then inking (I used a little craft tape for this). Before stamping, the mask was removed. From there, I repeated the steps and colors used to paint.

For the sentiment, I used a beautiful one in the You & Me stamp and die set by Penny Black. I loved this sentiment. It is a lovely reminder that everyone in the world needs a little love and kindness! ♥
