Love You – XO!

Sunny Studio Stamps has a new release, featuring a few super fun Valentine’s Day-themed stamps and dies. One of the sets is the awesome Vintage Valentine. This set features lots of noteworthy goodies to create your own Valentine’s Day for those special someone on your list. I am a sucker for anything that’s about postage stamps, letters, and the such so this set was perfect.

I started by stamping, coloring, and cutting out the typewriter and letters. I used Memento ink (alcohol-marker-friendly ink) to stamp them, then colored them with just a few alcohol markers.

Next was the background. I searched my stash for patterned paper that was suitable, but nothing was quite right … so I made my own using Kristina Werner’s Plaid Perfection stencil set. The stencil set uses 4 ink colors. Mine were Concord & 9th’s Nectar, Honeysuckle, Sea glass, and Tidepool.

To add to the theme, I stamped white cardstock with some notebook lines. The Penny Black Life’s Journal was perfect for that. To finish it off, I added the notebook edge using Spellbinder’s Torn Edges die set.

To put it all together, I mounted the plaid background onto a Poppy red cardbase and then stacked a postage-edged panel that was popped up with foam squares, making sure to tuck my ‘note’ paper underneath.

The typewriter was next, along with my ‘love letters’. A few hearts were cut using the Hero Arts Infinity Hearts set and mounted here and there. Finally, a couple of typewritten sentences from the Penny Black Footnotes set were added to continue the theme.
