Beautiful Birthday
Hi Creative Friends,
Today, I am sharing a sweet display of flowers from the Delicate Blossoms stamp by Penny Black. I LOVE using their gorgeous floral designs, and this spray of flowers is so simple yet utterly beautiful.

I wanted to keep this card display as simple as the flowers. So, to start, I gathered a few supplies. First, a 5″x7″ piece of hot-pressed watercolor paper, my stamp positioner, and the stamp. I also grabbed a few Concord and 9th inks like Plumberry, Briar Rose, and Buttercup for the flowers and Lemongrass and Juniper for the greenery (the ink cubes are perfect for stamping in tight areas – see supply list below).
With the watercolor paper and stamp mounted in my stamp positioner, I carefully inked the greenery bits of the stamp, avoiding the flowers. I began with Lemongrass, then stamped again with Juniper, leaving a few ends of the leaves with only the Lemongrass green showing. For the tight areas, I used my green Tombow marker to color the stems.

Next were the flowers. I started with Birar Rose, then added Plumberry with a dash of Buttercup. Plumberry is a strong color, so I was careful to use it sparingly!

I continued adding color by restamping and blending with a damp brush and lightly misting the stamp to help the ink blend until I was happy with the flowers and leaves.
Once done, using the smaller rectangle mask from the Background Basics by Penny Black, I very lightly blended Eucalyptus green into the background.
The sentiment was next. These flowers beautifully lend themselves to almost any sentiment. I chose one from the Super Day sentiment collection by Penny Black and stamped it in Shady Lane green.

After mounting the floral panel to an Alabaster card base, I added a gold bow from the Balloon Bouquet die set by Papertrey Ink and small butterflies from the Soaring set to make the card extra special. My only regret is that the gold foil doesn’t photograph well! It is so much prettier in person!
I hope you enjoyed our artful adventure today… see you next time! ♥
