Birthday Petals
Hi Friends,
Finally, I have had a chance to use the delightful Scalloped Petals stamp and die set by Concord & 9th. I love the big, bold flower with the sweet little ladybug! You can choose any color scheme you like, and it will change the flavor of your card designs. I have made two so you can see what I mean. These cards were an easy make and so fun!

When making these cards, there really isn’t much stamping; instead, there’s some cutting. So, for the first card, I cut out the flower using a couple of dramatic colors like Pomegranate and Bellini. I made the Bellini layer the front one, and stenciled on a design using Papertrey Ink Dotted Diamonds stencil and Pimento ink.
The stamen was cut from white cardstock, and the leaves were cut from Juicy Pear and Rainforest. Finally, the ladybug was cut from Raven black and Poppy Red cardstock.

Since these flowers fit onto an A2-sized panel, I cut out a Seaside cardstock panel and mounted it onto a white cardstock card base. Using the same scallop die I used for the flowers, I cut the top of the card base/panel so that when I mounted the flower and leaves on top, the petals matched up perfectly with the top of the card base.
The sweet little ladybug was added, and the Happy Birthday sentiment was stamped using Nocturne ink and Waffle Flower’s Sweet Birthday sentiments.

For my next card, I changed it up a little. I still cut out the flowers and leaves. This time, using white for the flower parts, I blended some purple Fig ink to the back piece and a little to the front piece. The leaves were cut from Easter Grass and Caramel Apple cardstock, then the thin stripes were stamped with Parsley ink

Using a white cardstock panel, mounted onto a white card base, I stenciled a checkered pattern using Pretty Pink Posh’s Mini Checker stencil and Buttercup ink.
The flower and leaves were mounted at an angle, and the edges trimmed. A cute curved sentiment was stamped alongside the flower, and another ladybug was set onto the leaf.

That completes my second card. I hope you enjoyed this paper crafting adventure as much as I did. Let me know which one is your favorite! ♥
