Flutter and Flowers

Flutter and Flowers

Hi Creative Friends,

I am sharing a bright and cheery new card design featuring sweet flowers and fluttering butterflies. These adorable flowers can be found in Papertrey Ink’s Flutter and Flowers stamp and die set.

This is a simple card design. All you need to start is an A2-sized white cardstock card panel, a matching card base, a smaller white cardstock panel, and a little more cardstock to stamp and cut out the flowers, grass, and butterflies.

I used distress inks for all the stamping and coloring. Here are the colors used:

Flowers: Scattered Straw and Wild Honey – Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick – Tumbled Glass and Broken China. The centers were colored with Wild Honey and a touch of Abandoned Coral

Butterflies: Tumbled Glass and Broken China – Scattered Straw and Wild Honey

Leaves and Grass: Crushed Olive and Rustic Wilderness

Once the elements were stamped and cut out, I prepared the smallest panel by blending on Tumbled Glass and Broken China, splattered with white and Broken China blue dots. A few blades of grass were added using green markers.

To assemble, the white panel was mounted on the card base, then the panel I just added color and grass to was popped up with foam and added to the front of the card base. Then flowers and butterflies were added using foam squares and glue.

For the sentiment, I used one from the awesome So Many Sayings stamp and die set by Concord & 9th. I love that you can stamp and cut out a bunch of sentiments all in one fell swoop and will be ready for many more projects!

My card is done, and I am enjoying the simplicity and the bright, spring-like colors. I hope you enjoyed it too, and with any luck, it sparked your creative self!
