Delightful Country Rooster

It’s always a pleasure to be here with you!   Today I’m sharing an A2-size card using the adorable “Country Rooster Die Collection” along with “Country Rooster Stencil Collection” (sold separately) at Papertrey Ink’s newest release.  This set is adorable and can be used for so many different occasions.

I started with Bristol smooth surface cardstock.  I like to use this for ink blending,  as one of my favorite things to do is take a white cardstock and do my own color ink blending. I find it very relaxing!  You can also cut from colored cardstock and do some shading around the edges to elevate your pieces. I used all distress Inks for a more vibrant color palette.

Rooster – Salvage Patina, Black Soot, Antique Linen, Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade, and Lumberjack Plaid (I splattered with water all but the black one). You can color these roosters any color you want.  You can also attach the wing or not.

I also used the new release “Build a teapot dies” for my leaves and flowers.

Leaves – Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint

Flower – Carved Pumpkim, Lumberjack Plaid, Salvage Patina, flower centers Fossilized Amber, Ripe Persimmon, and left some white.

For my layers and the background panel, I used “Nested Postage Labels & Tag set” from Spellbinders. I took my postage panel from Bristol cardstock and scored at every 1/2 inch to create my own wood panel.  Of course, if you want a bigger panel and larger planks, you can score at every inch or 1 1/2 inches.  Using the small cubes of Lost Shadow and Black Soot distress ink, I ran them down the panel and let them dry.  You can repeat for more color as you like.  I also tried Gathered Twigs and Black Soot, try some colors to your preference and design.

I used black cardstock from my stash, and the yellow gold panel was cut from Spellbinders Rainbow Hues Color Wheel cardstock.  This was all mounted onto Neenah Solar Cardstock with Tombow Mono Liquid glue.

For the stenciling, it comes with 3 different stencil designs.  Samples in the blog.  I used Lawn Fawn Yeti pigment ink.  I purposely left off the sentiment for now.  This card design can be used for any occasion, Happy Birthday, Thinking of You, Miss you, or even if you have some cute Rooster sentiment.
