Wild Birds
Hi Creative Friends,
To start off this Saturday, I am sharing a duo of card designs using the charming Wild Bird stamp set by Waffle Flower. I combined it with the Postage Collage die to showcase lots of different birds.
If you love birds like I do, this is a wonderful stamp set!

Each of these two cards has the same layout but different color schemes. For the first card, I cut out the postage collage frame using the Waffle Flower Postage Collage die and white cardstock. Since I was making two cards, I cut two using the collage die and set one aside for now.
Then, using the Postage Coloring stencil (all the supplies are listed below), I blended on Cobblestone ink at the bottom, then added a light layer of Plumberry (a brand new color from Concord & 9th), then Grape Soda at the top. I used Waffle Flower’s shaders to apply the color in these small areas.
Next, I mounted the collage front into my stamp positioner, arranged my bird stamps, then stamped them using Versafine Clair Fantasia. This is a luscious color of purple but I didn’t realize until now that the color has been discontinued. A good substitute is Villainous Potion distress ink.
With the front done, I mounted a slightly larger panel of Aubergine purple card stock to the back of the collage panel, then backed it with a foam sheet. The whole assembly was then mounted to a Gravel A2-sized card stock card base.

To finish, I stamped the sentiment (from a new set by Kristina Werner – Mother and Father stamp set) in Cobblestone ink, cut it out using the matching die and mounted it onto the front!
Just like that, the card was done!

Since I had the birds all set up in my stamp positioner, I decided to give a go at heat embossing the birds. So, for this next card, I used the exact procedure as before but changed the color scheme. I used Artichoke at the bottom of each section, then Wild Honey and followed up with Uncharted Mariner distress ink.
The collage panel was mounted onto an Oceanside blue panel, foam backed, then a plaid background was added before mounting onto a card base. The plaid paper is from the Bitty Big collection from Papertrey Ink.

I used a sentiment from the Sweet Birthday combo pack, stamped it with Paradise Versafine Clair ink, then cut it out with the matching die and mounted it.
That completes my project for today. I hope it gave you a little inspiration! ♥
