A Trip Down Yuletide Lane

A Trip Down Yuletide Lane

Hi Creative Friends,

I’m super excited to share my latest project. Honestly, I didn’t think I would enjoy creating this adorable card design as much as I did! It not only makes an awesome card but also makes a wonderful holiday display on your mantle or buffet. The Yuletide Lane stamp and die set is truly MAGICAL!

I am in love with these charming little houses, which, when folded, fit into an A2-sized envelope. To make them, it is just a matter of cutting out the pieces, all included in the Yuletide Lane die set. I used scraps from the Concord & 9th assorted pack of cardstock.

You can also add as many houses to the accordion-fold card design as you want. You can even just use one mounted onto a card base. For this project, I made 3, each a different color.

For each house, I used the windows and door included in the die set, mixing and matching as I went. Then, I chose different embellishments, such as a brick pattern for the first one. The middle pink one was cut from Honeysuckle pink cardstock, and then I stenciled on a simple plaid pattern using a stencil from Kristina Werner’s Layered Plaid stencil pack. For the eucalyptus green house, I used the lines in the matching stamp set to create siding.

Once all the main pieces of the houses were cut, assembled, and mounted, I got to the super fun parts of decorating my houses. There are a myriad of fun elements in the die set to choose from. I used the ‘Merry’ banner, wreath, and Noel hanging banner. Other little goodies were added along the way.

The last finishes were the trees. I scored a couple of the trees so they would fold properly with the accordion fold. The rest were coupled with other trees. Finally, sparkly Stickles glitter glue was added to the rooftops and snowy bits above the window and doors.

This project has a lot of die-cutting, but it couldn’t have been more fun!! I loved seeing my village of houses come to life. Give it a whirl, and you will see what I mean!
