Let’s Mix It Up

Let’s Mix It Up

Hi Creative Friends,

I am totally smitten with Spellbinders new Make It and Bake It die sets. I especially love the Magic Mixer one. It features a retro mixer with a classic mixing bowl … both are adorable!

I couldn’t decide which card design to go with, so I made two! That way, we could have some fun with them!. Let me know which is your favorite in the comments below or on Instagram (@foiledfox). Each comment will be entered into our drawing of a $25 gift certificate from our shop.

Now on to the details.

For both of the card designs, I used the Magic Mixer die set by Spellbinders. This adorable set has all the mixing/baking pieces to make lots of super sweet culinary goodies!

Starting with the floral card, I used patterned paper (that was popped up with a foam backing) on top of a Spellbinders Bellini cardstock card base. The mixer and its parts were cut from TuTu and Bellini cardstock (and a scrap of silver foil cardstock for the beaters), then assembled. The bowl was cut from white carstock and colored with two Copic markers: R000 and R20.

I also created a small recipe card by stamping notebook lines from Penny Black’s Life’s Journal, and the edge was cut using the Spellbinders Torn Paper Edges die set. A partial recipe was written in with a fine black pen.

A sweet sentiment from the Sugared Expressions stamp set was stamped in Pinecone brown. Then, a diamond-shaped border was cut and mounted.

To finish, the baking goodies (mixer, bowl, etc) were mounted to the front.

For my second card, I followed all the steps as the first one, only this time, I used a Waterfall cardstock card base, then mounted a white cardstock panel that was cut out from the Floral Grid cover plate by Pinkfresh Studio. A scalloped border cut from the Eyelet Scalloped Border die set by Spellbinders was added, then the sentiment was stamped using Nocturne ink

The Spellbinders Colorwheel cardstock colors used for the mixer, bowl, and cookies, plus dough were Waterfall, TuTu, Bellini, Silver foil, Fawn, and Truffle (a complete supply is below).

Once all my die-cut baking supplies were cut and assembled, they were mounted using foam squares.

And there we have it… my two cards were finished. Thanks for joining me and I hope you enjoyed them. Please let us know which one is your favorite, and you will be entered into our random drawing.

Happy Crafting!!
