Blooming Basket of Flowers… for Mom
Hi Creative Friends,
I am back with another papercrafting adventure. With Mother’s Day right around the corner, I am making a sweet blooming basket of flowers for Mom. I used the new and very lovely Basket of Blooms from Papertrey Ink and their brand new ‘Happy Mother’s Day‘ sentiment!

I began with the basket. There are two stamps for this. I used Lost Shadow distress ink for the background and Iced Spruce for the detail stamping. I did the same for the basket handle, then cut them out using the matching die set.
Next were the flowers. The colors I used to stamp were: Saltwater Taffy, Picked Raspberry, and Abandoned Coral distress inks for the posies. The blue bells were stamped in Tumbled Glass and Broken China distress inks for the detail. The tiny flowers were stamped with Picked Raspberry and a dash of Seeldless Preserves.
I used more distress inks for the leaves. I used Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, and Mowed Lawn. The die set was used when all the stamping was done.
For a base for the basket of flowers, I cut a sweet little shape using Papertrey Ink’s Love to Layer: Polished Points from white cardstock.

The Polished Points shape was mounted onto a piece of patterned paper from my stash, then onto a gray cardstock background.
The basket and all the lovely flowers were arranged, then secured with foam squares.
For the sentiment, I cut out “Happy Mother’s Day’ three times. Then stacked and glued them together. I used spray adhesive for this task. I am loving this method to stack and glue things together. It is no mess and a super clean way to adhere my pieces together!

To finish, I ink-blended a combination of Saltwater Taffy, Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral, and a little Wild Honey to color the sentiment, then added it to my card front.
I hope you enjoyed today’s papercrafting adventure and hope it inspires you to give it a whirl… see you next time! ♥
