A Floral Birthday for You

A Floral Birthday for You

Hi Creative Friends,

Today’s card design is bursting with flowers from the Floral Spray die set by Spellbinders. Flowers are always a welcome sight, and I love how cheerful they make me feel.

The Floral Spray die set has all the flowers you need to create a beautiful bouquet! The hardest part is choosing the colors. I settled on a mixed bouquet of colors. I used the assorted pack of cardstock from Spellbinders for my color choices. I love being able to easily thumb through the pack to find all the cardstock I need. With that said, for those who like to have a supply of each color, I have listed each color of carstock individually in the supply list below.

After all the flowers were cut out and assembled. I set them aside for a moment to create the background. I started with an Indigo blue A2-sized panel, then cut out a Windy blue scalloped oval panel from the Scallop and Stitched Ovals die set by Lisa Horton and Spellbinders. This set has a nesting set of dies. I used the second largest one to cut out a white cardstock panel, too.

From there, I mounted thin foam to the back of each oval, then layered them on top of the Indigo panel. With the foundation done, I got to work arranging the flowers and adhering them with foam squares and glue. This part always takes the longest for me! It is so hard to know what to put where!

Once done, I moved on to the sentiment. I used one of my favorite Betterpress sentiment packs, A Little Message by Spellbinders. I love letterpress-like sentiments. It adds a specialness to the card design, and the Betterpress system by Spellbinders makes it soooooo simple!

I can never have enough birthday cards, so I chose a birthday sentiment, then mounted it in my Betterpress system, stamped it with Delicata gold ink, and then ran it through my die-cutting machine. I was too lazy to gold foil the sentiment, so the next best thing is luxurious gold ink.

That completes my project for today. I hope it gave you a little inspiration to make your own floral bouquet!
