Today Is A Good Day

Hi Creative Friends,

I am back with a card design filled with bold, beautiful blooms, compliments of Penny Black and their new Flowering die set. I love how these big modern-like flowers liven up any card design, not to mention how fast you can create a special card!

I started with the flowers, of course. The body of each flower was cut out of watercolor paper, then liberally spritzed with water. From there, I placed a dot of reinker in the center and let it mingle, adding a dash of Mustard Seed and Festive Berries for the large flower and Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon, and a dash of Picked Raspberry for the smaller flowers. To intensify the centers, I blended on a bit of Festive Berries distress ink. The adorable stamens were cut from white cardstock.

For the background, I used a white cardstock panel, then stenciled on random spots of ink using the Splash stencil set by Kristina Werner and Concord & 9th. I used two colors: Saltwater Taffy and Picked Raspberry,

To build the base, I backed the white cardstock panel with a slightly larger Bellini panel, then added it to the Tutu pink panel.

The flowers were arranged and pressed on with a foam square. Next, I chose one of the lovely sentiments from Penny Black’s Positivity stamp and die set and stamped it on the front using Nocturne black ink.

And there we have it, a cheery, floral card waiting to brighten the recipient’s day!
