Hi Creative Friends,
Today’s card design was made using a new stamp and die set from Papertrey Ink called Adorning Trees. The modern trees featured in this set are great fun and they are very versatile. You can just use the outlines, like I did, in this card, you can use the centers for a solid tree look, or you can use both for a taller, fuller tree. Any way you do it, I think they would make a handsome card!
Here is a short video to take you step-by-step through the process.
I chose to use the chic black, white, and gold look but this card would look equally as beautiful in other colors. You can also use different sentiments to change the mood or occasion. For this card, I used one of the sentiments from The Greatest Gift stamp and die set and heat embossed it with a gold embossing powder (check out all the supplies used below).
I also chose to make this an oversized card, a full 6.5″x7.5″. I love the large black background, coupled with gold glitter paper, and the hint of white in the tree outlines. It just sets off the trees and gives room for a sprinkling of stars above.
Finally, the jewels add a bit of twinkle. They look great with the glitter paper and give a little dimension too. Again, I chose the white jewels but even an array of colors would be great… just like how a Christmas tree has many colors of lights.
