Hi Creative Friends,
Every now and again a wedding card is just the thing needed. For this card, I wanted it to be elegant so I chose an all-white theme using the beautiful Prominent Petals stamp and die set by Papertrey Ink.
I started with a 5 1/2″ square white card stock card base (when folded) and two panels, 5″ and 3 1/2″ respectively. The card base was set aside for now.
Using the 5″ panel, I randomly stamped flowers and leaves from the Prominent Petals stamp set using Versamark ink, then heat embossed it with Vanilla white embossing powder. The Vanilla embossing powder has a nice subtle contrast to the white card panel.
Once the flowers and leaves were heat embossing, I used the dotted pattern stamp in the set to again stamp with Versamark ink but this time gold heat emboss them. While I had the gold embossing powder out, I also stamped the 3 1/2″ panel with the sentiment “To The Happy Couple” from the Just Married stamp set but really, nearly any sentiment you choose would work.
One more thing, using Versamark ink, I stamped a few flowers and leaves onto a separate piece of white card stock and Vanilla heat embossed them too. They were then cut out using the matching Prominent Petals die set.
With all the pieces ready to be put together, I mounted a foam backing to both panels, then adhered the 5″ one to the front of the card base. Then, the 3 1/2″ on top of that. The flowers and leaves were added with a bit of foam tape to complete the card.
I hope you enjoyed this card design. I think you could really change up this card design simply by changing the color of the flowers and leaves. Do a switch-a-roo with the sentiment and you have a totally different flavor. I think that is one of the cool things about card making, it just takes a few tweaks and you have a brand new lovely card to send! ♥
What a lovely card, Shauna!
This is wonderful inspiration as I need to make some wedding cards.
Thanks for sharing your idea.
I like the vanilla embossing power with the gold spots.
Thanks so much! I am glad it gave you a little inspiration!
