We are starting out the week with a sweet treat! It is a new card design using a new stamp and die set by Concord & 9th called Pretty Sweet. It makes luscious ice cream cones… perfect for summer!
This card design makes up in a snap! We started with an A2-sized white card stock card base and a white cardstock panel to match. Then, with a piece of Bristol paper (for easy blending), we swiped first Aqua ink across the panel, then Oceanside toward the bottom to create an ombre effect. By the way, Concord & 9th’s ink cubes and pads are made of foam so they apply to paper so easily!
For the rest of the pieces needed, we swiped ink onto Bristol paper first, then cut them out with the coordinating dies. We applied a patch of each color that was just big enough to cut out an ice cream scoop. We used Honeysuckle, Buttercup, and Sprout. Then, cut out the scoops with the die in the Pretty Sweet die set. Since the patches of color needed are relatively small, swiping on the color was super easy, however, if you like, you can skip inking patches of color and just use their awesome colored cardstock pack. We put it in the supply list below so you can check it out!
Next, we did the same thing for the cone. We used Pebble for the cone’s background and Nutmeg for the criss-cross pattern then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. We also cut out another criss-cross pattern from white cardstock. When done, we glued the criss-cross to the cone base.
For the sentiment, we stamped ‘coolest’ with Dragonfruit, a very rich and dark pink color, then cut it out. The ‘you are’ and ‘the’ were stamped onto black cardstock using Versamark ink, then white heat embossed with white embossing powder.
To put this card design altogether, the A2 panel was mounted to the front of the card base. We, then, trimmed down the aqua background panel and mounted foam on the back. It was added to the front of the card.
Next, we mounted the cone and scoops using foam squares. Tiny sprinkles were added, along with the sentiment pieces. The final piece to add was a Dragonfruit-colored heart. ♥
