Hi Creative Friends,
With the leaves changing to beautiful gold and brown colors and the fields ready to harvest, it is time to share a fun and colorful Autumn card design using a few of Papertrey Ink‘s newest and brightest stamps and dies.
To get everything rolling, I started with the Farm Fresh Pumpkins stamp and die set. It is stuffed full of Autumn elements, including an old-timey truck, hay bales, and fresh pumpkins.
So often I want to combine ink colors, then spritz with water to get a graduation or mingling of color. To make this happen, watercolor paper is one of the best. For this project, I used cold-pressed watercolor paper for its texture but whatever you have will work.
I mounted all the pieces in my stamp positioner and got to work inking and stamping. I chose to color my truck with blues so I used Blueberry Sky and Enchanted Evening, along with True Black, Weathervane, Bright Buttercup, and Pure Poppy for the tail lights.
For all the goodies inside the truck bed, I used Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Canyon Clay, Honey Nut, Vintage Cream, Prairie Grass, and a little Ripe Avocado.
Once all the pieces were colored, I assembled the truck and then loaded the truck bed with the harvest of pumpkins and hay. I used a little glue and foam squares to make that happen. When done, I set it aside while I got the other elements ready.
To create a leafy background, I used the new Papertrey Ink Fun Frames: Leaves and Love to Layer: Leaves dies. I cut the Fun Frame out of yellow paper, and then blended on Fall-like colors. I did the same with the Love to Layer leaves except I cut them from a scrap of white bristol paper, then blended orange and brown of ink.
Next, I embossed maple leaves on a Kraft paper panel. The Maple Leaf cover plate is great for this. Even though the plate is designed to cut the tiny maple leaves out, I chose to use my rubber mat and just embossed them into the paper.
My card design was ready to assemble. I only needed a Candy Corn orange A2-sized card base, then added the maple leaf panel on top. I added a foam backing to the Fun Frames panel, then added it to the front of the card base.
The card was nearly finished, I just needed to add the truck with all its bounty!
That finishes my project for today, hope you enjoyed it. Autumn cards are so fun to make, I hope you give them a whirl! ♥
