Hi Creative Friends,
The wonderful and uber-talented Dana Kirby is sharing two awesome card designs! And as a special bonus, she used the new, super fun, and easy BetterPress system. They are both so lovely, we just can’t choose which is our favorite, perhaps you can!
Hi friends! It’s Dana here today and I am sharing a few cards that use the new BetterPress Letterpress System from Spellbinders. You can find all of the details about this fun new Letterpress in this video here: Spellbinders BetterPress Unboxing and Release at The Foiled Fox. The video gives all the details and information you need to use the letterpress and get the best results. I am not one to use a lot of “tools” but I can’t believe how easy the letterpress is to use and the results are amazing.
For my first card, I started by using the Spellbinders BetterPress Letterpress System to make my card panel. I followed the directions on the video and used the Floral View Plate and Die to make my panel. I then used the sentiment and die included in the Floral View set to make my sentiment.
Next, I did some quick water coloring with Distress Ink in Mowed Lawn, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, and Mustard Seed on the flowers and leaves. I then trimmed the panel down and attached my sentiment with foam adhesive.
Lastly, I used the Spring Foliage dies from Pretty Pink Posh (Mini Blooms from Spellbinders work great too! – see supply list below) to die-cut a few florals and leaves to use as accents around my sentiment. I die-cut the flowers from Hibiscus Burst, Summer Sunrise, and Bright Buttercup cardstock and the leaves from New Leaf cardstock.
Next, I made three cards that use the Big Thanks Letterpress Plate. I love the size and font of this sentiment! I decided to use the Letterpress on “regular” cardstock for these cards. I used Concord & 9th cardstock in Sprout, Sea Glass, and Nectar.
Once my panels were finished I used the Spring Foliage dies again to add a few floral accents to my cards.
Thanks for joining me today and I hope I inspired you to give the BetterPress Letterpress System a try. I know you will love the results, it is so easy and fun to use!!
Enjoy your day,
Dana
