A Folky Holiday

A Folky Holiday

Hi Crafty Friends,

As promised, I am back sharing a video we created for Papertrey Ink – Ink To Paper. For this project, we are dipping into the very popular world of folk (maybe Scandinavian) art by using the very versatile Folky Holiday set. This stamp set (don’t forget the dies too) is chocked full of decorative holiday elements, making it a delight to use.

Here is the video for you to check out

As you saw in the video, this card design starts by cutting out a panel from white cardstock using the Love to Layer: Aztec frames. Then, after finding the center, a light pencil mark was made  1 1/4″ below the horizontal indent from the die, then four more marks were made 3/4″ apart.

Now that the placement of the branches was in place, the gold embossing snowflake from the Folky Holiday stamp set was stamped and embossed at the top. The dark green branches were stamped with Pinefeather ink cube,  following the pencil tick marks made. Then, the pine sprigs are stamped with New Leaf. To finish the tree, a decorative dark green semi-circle was stamped for the trunk. Finally, the charming opposing rabbits were stamped with Pure Poppy.

With the top panel done, the green background panel was stamped and gold embossed with the “Peace On Earth” sentiment found in the Winter Magic stamp set. Then, random leafy stamps were stamped with Versamark ink, then embossed with Leaf Green embossing powder.

To complete the card, the decorated green panel was placed onto a slightly larger white card base. The ‘tree’ panel was popped up with a foam panel, then mounted on top… done!

I hope you enjoyed the video and it sparked some of your own imagination about how you can use this very versatile and sweet stamp and die set.
