A Modern Birthday Bouquet

A Modern Birthday Bouquet

Hi Crafty Friends,

We hope you are all well and ready for a fun and easy card design. This design is to celebrate the birthday of a young, vivacious woman. She has a modern flair so hopefully, it will brighten her day.

It all starts with the Bold Stripe Background from Concord & 9th. This background really sets the tone! It is simple and bold. Then, by adding the bouquet, it adds a feminine touch.

To begin, I placed the bold stripe background in a stamping platform, like a MISTI, inked it up with Papertrey’s Aqua Mist ink and stamped it onto a Neenah white card stock panel. Then trimmed the edges and mounted it onto a slightly larger white card stock card base.

With the background done (yay!), I broke out one of my favorites, Ink To Paper’s Birthday Bouquet stamp set. I stamped the flowers, leaves and stems using Papertrey Ink’s ink cubes. Here is a guide of the colors I used:

After everything was stamped, I used the coordinating die set to cut out all the pieces. Included in the die set are three extra leaf sprigs and the bow. The sprigs were cut from a scrap of Easter Grass card stock and the bow from a scrap of Candy Hearts card stock.

It was time to assemble. With the card base with the background in hand, I started by mounting the leaf-stem background, then adding the die-cut leaf sprigs. The flowers were added next. By using bits of foam tape or glue, the bouquet came together, much like arranging flowers in a flower base.

The final steps were to add the bow and sentiment tag. And there we have it, a fun, modern card for a lovely young woman. ♥
