Hi Creative Friends,
I am sharing a holiday card design using the delightful Robin’s Christmas stamp by Penny Black. This stamp features a beautiful wintery scene of a charming little bird. I was so taken by this little robin that I had to make a video showing you all the steps.
I am always a sucker for bird stamps and this little guy is just so cute! View all the coloring and steps by clicking below.
Coloring this scene was a pleasure and it actually is much quicker than you think. I used mostly Ranger-Tim Holtz distress inks. All the colors used are listed below in the supply list.
I especially like the white frame around the scene. It creates a vignette-type look which I am very fond of. I used the Torn Edges die set from Papertrey Ink but the Antique Frames set by Penny Black is a very good die set too!
The sentiment was from the Penny black Joyful Holiday stamp set and was inked with Dark Indigo, a Papertrey Ink ink color. A lacey snowflake was added to complete the card.
I hope you enjoyed this video and project. I will be back very soon with another paper-crafting adventure! ♥
Hi Dana, I am in love with this little bird set. Your painting has inspired me.
Can I ask what brush you used? I’m new at watercolor and need all the help I can get!
Hi there, I used a few sizes of round brushes. I used a 2, 4, 6,and 8. Here is a link of a set that works well bit.ly/3Wjx7iX
Thanks for asking.
