Hi Crafty Friends,
Can you believe it? I am back with another video-YAY!
I couldn’t resist sharing this card design in three different colors but all use the beautiful Bouquet Backdrop die by Ink To Paper. This one-piece die adds high impact to your design and is amazing as the main focal point.
This card design is so easy to make and it truly takes just minutes. It, of course all starts with the bouquet backdrop by Ink To Paper. Below is the how-to video to step you through it.
Now that you viewed the video, here are a few close-ups and details about each card.
I will begin with the yellow version, just like in the video. I started by cutting out the Bouquet Backdrop design from Neenah 110lb. white card stock, outlining it with a black pen, Next, I blending Vintage Cream (light), Harvest Gold (medium) and Bright Buttercup (dark) inks from Papertrey Ink onto a piece of Bristol paper (for easier blending), making sure to leave some white space on the right of the panel.
Once the background was finished, I lightly colored the flowers with more Papertrey Ink ink cubes. I used Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Green Parakeet and New Leaf. The two tiny centers were colored with Honey Nut.
The colored background was then popped up by adding a foam rectangle to the back of the panel, then mounting it onto another larger white panel and finally to a white card base.
The sentiment was added using True Black ink and the “Tagged” sentiment stamp set.
Next up to the gray version. Yes, I said gray. It doesn’t look very gray, does it? But for this card, the inked background panel first started with Antique Gray card stock, then blended on Fresh Snow (light), Soft Stone (medium) and Weathervane for the dark.
I used Lilac Grace and Plum Pudding for the flowers and Ocean Tides for the leaves. The center of the flowers used the same Honey Nut ink and the sentiment was another one from the ‘Tagged” sentiment set by Ink To Paper.
The last one was a lovely pink. The background was created with Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, and Lovely Lady. The flowers were colored with Hibiscus Burst and Raspberry Fizz and the leaves were using the same color combination as the yellow one, by using Green Parakeet and New Leaf.
The sentiment was of course from the same “Tagged” sentiment set and each of these cards was finished in the same way!
I love the simple beauty of these cards but I am hard-pressed to decide which is my favorite – which one is ours? Please let me know in the comments!
Thanks for joining me again and I will see you next time! ♥
This is a lovely way to use that die. The colours are gorgeous. Great tip on leaving the die cut in place to colour.
Thanks so much!
