A Starry Merry Christmas

A Starry Merry Christmas

Hi Creative Friends,

I can’t seem to stop making holiday cards, especially when they are as fun and easy as this one. I used a few dies and stamp sets from the new Simply Graphic release for this card design.

I don’t know if you follow some of the European card makers on Instagram but often you will see clean, white backgrounds and a simple motif. I love the simplicity and beauty of this style… not to mention how fast the card came together!

Let’s jump in and begin. I started with an A2 white card stock card base and a slightly smaller white card stock panel. From the panel, I cut out the starry circle insert using the Starry Crown die by Simply Graphic. I also cut out one more Starry Crown circle, removed the center and stacked and glued the two together, and reinserted it back onto the panel. At the same time, I cut from gold foil paper a couple of sprigs of a pine branch using the Pine Branch die set and set aside.

Now that the basics are done, I mounted the panel to the card base and stamped with Versamark ink the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Winter Labels stamp set. It was then sprinkled with gold embossing powder, and heat embossed.

Next, I stamped the poinsettia from the Christmas Garden stamp set (see supply list below) with Versamark ink and gold embossed it. I actually used a small piece of watercolor paper for this so that when the embossing was done, I could watercolor the flower. I used Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry for the coloring. When done, the flower was fussy-cut around the edges.

All that was left was to mount the flower with a foam square and tuck in the gold pine sprigs.

I hope this project inspired you to get out your craft supplies and create something wonderful!

P.S. I can’t promise I won’t show you another Simply Graphic card design (because I love them so much) but I will take a break and feature something different, fun, and festive!
