Hi Creative Friends,
Not too long ago Papertrey Ink issued their latest release. It was packed full of Autumn themed goodies. One of them was the Measured In Abundance stamp and die set. I thought it was so charming that I had to make a card! Here is my design.
I usually have a vision of the finished card before I start … but not this time! Does this happen to you too? When this happens to me, I dive in making the pieces, hoping the creative juices will start to flow. Luckily, by the time I had the first couple of pieces done, I had a better idea!
Using my stamp positioner and Concord & 9th ink cubes, I started stamping all the pieces in the set. I started with the scale, then worked my way through. Here is a key of the colors used:
- Scale: Tidepool, Blueberry around the edges, and Versafine Black Onyx ink for the scale dial.
- Pumpkins: Buttercup, Marmalade, Spiced Cider, and Lemongrass and Avocado for the stems
- Leaves: Lemongrass and Avocado
- Grapes: Lilac and Grape Soda
- Books: Wheat and Nutmeg for the large book, Blueberry and a touch of Midnight, Grapefruit for the last book
Now that all the pieces were stamped and cut out using the matching dies (see supply list below).
Next, I created a background using a Candy Corn card stock panel and stenciled a plaid pattern using the Papertrey Ink Watercolor Plaid stencil, Cobblestone ink cube, and a dauber. Before mounting it to an A2-sized Kraft card stock card base, I wrapped neutral skinny twine around the panel and tied a bow.
From there, I cut out a large arch from the Papertrey Ink Love To Layer: Arches using white cardstock and mounted it on top using foam squares.
The rest was the super fun part… arranging and applying the pieces with foam squares and/or glue.
To finish the card, I chose one of the sentiments included in the set, stamped and cut it out. That finished my card and I am pleased with the result. I hope you liked it too! ♥
