Adorable Baby

Adorable Baby

Hi Creative Friends,

Every so often you need a baby card, don’t you? I can’t think of a more charming way to make a sweet baby card than to use the Adorable Outfits stamp, die, and stencil set by Papertrey Ink. The parents of this baby like the neutral tones of gray so this is my version using that soft tone. I hope the new parents like it… and you too!

I started with an A2 white card stock card base and a Soft Stone Bitty Big polka-dot panel mounted on top. For the next layer, I added a white card stock panel that had been cut out using the Scallop Stacker die (see the complete list of supplies below). Next, I cut a Bristol paper panel using the Lawn Fawn Sunburst die, then blended on Antique Linen distress ink with Wild Honey distress ink in the center for more intensity. Once the panel was colored, I trimmed it so it could fit inside the scalloped panel.

With the foundation done, I set it aside and started on the really fun stuff. First I cut out a couple of onesies from white card stock. Using the coordinating stamps, I stamped one outline of the onesie with Soft Stone ink, and the other with Harvest Gold ink. Then, using the matching mini stencils, I stenciled gray polka dots on one and a sun and Hello Sunshine on the other.

I needed a little pizazz and I think rainbows are perfect for a baby. Using the rainbow from the Playful Patterns stamp and die set, I stamped the rainbow using a variety of colors: Berry Sorbet, Bright Buttercup, New Leaf, and Hawaiian Shores. While I was at it, I cut out a few clouds and cut out and stamped “OH Baby”. I used Berry Sorbet for ‘baby’ and a combination of Soft Stone and Berry Sorbet for ‘oh’.

All my elements were done so it was time to assemble. Using some foam squares and glue I arranged and adhered my pieces. For an extra bit of shine, I added a few enamel stars.

That finishes the card for today. I hope to see you for our next paper crafting adventure!
