Beautiful Clusters of Flowers

Beautiful Clusters of Flowers

Hi Creative Friends,

I am sharing a new card design using Penny Black’s Modesty stamp set. This stamp set has two beautiful cluster of flowers. I chose to create mine in blues and greens but I think they would be glorious in any color scheme.

I started with a Bristol paper panel and the large flower cluster mounted in my stamp positioner. I used the Bristol paper for a crisp white background and I knew it could hold up to a little spritzing.

So, I inked up the flower part of the stamp with a combination of Hawaiian Shores, Ocean Tides, and Spring Moss, lightly spritzed it with water, then stamped. I continued to add color to the flower by inking and stamping with my chosen colors, along with adding a dash of Tropic Teal near the bottom of the flower cluster. When I was happy with the flower portion, I moved on to the stem and leaves, using Ocean Tides, New Leaf, and Spring Moss.

When finished with the main, large flower, I continued by mounting the smaller flower cluster to the right, and a little lower than the large flower, then inking, spritzing and stamping just like before.

Finally, I positioned the smaller flower again, but this time to the left and a little lower yet. Repeated the same steps, using the same ink colors, just not as intense.

With the stamping done, I smooched a bit of Tropic Teal, Spring Moss, and Ocean Tides, each in their own little patch onto my glass mat, loosened the inks with water, then splattered each color separately onto the flower panel.

When dry, I added one more design element by mounting it on my Scoring Board and scored 1/2″ from the edge, then adding an additional score line 1/8″ in from the first scoreline. I repeated this same method for all four sides.

Using a white card base, I mounted a Robin’s Egg blue panel on the front, then added the flower panel. For the sentiment, I cut out the word ‘Hugs” from the Perfect Pairs: Essentials die set by Papertrey Ink, then stamped it with Versamark ink, and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.

I cut out one more ‘Hugs’ from white card stock and stacked the two layers together, then mounted it onto my card.

That finished this sweet card. I love this kind of card ‘cuz I can use them for nearly any occasion – perfect!
