Beautiful Cosmos Flowers

Welcome to our blog today. We are sharing a wonderfully beautiful card design by our good friend, Dana Kirby. She has created a real beauty using the new Cosmos BetterPress and stencil sets. We always love her color and the magic she brings to every project!

Hi friends! It’s Dana here today with a card that uses the gorgeous Cosmos Backdrop BetterPress Plate and coordinating stencil from Spellbinders. This is another one of those gorgeous sets that can be used for so many occasions. I love it!

I started my card by using the BetterPress Letterpress System along with Cosmos Backdrop Press Plate and BetterPress Black ink. I inked the plate up and ran it through my die-cutting machine to create my card panel. Next, I used the Layered Cosmos Backdrop stencil set (5 stencils) to add color to the images. I used Concord & 9th ink for my blending. (Ballet Pink, Carnation, Sprout, Aqua Sky, and Tidepool). The stencils are so quick and easy to use. I hope Spellbinders designs others to be used with the Press Plates!

I trimmed my panel down and added three strips of cardstock across the center. (Sprout, Carnation and Aqua Sky) This step is not necessary, but it helped to break apart my sentiment from the background so it didn’t get lost.  For my sentiment, I used the You Are Everything press plate & die set. I added Sweet Pea ink to the plate and ran it through my die cutting machine to make my impression. I then used the You Are Everything dies (included with the press plate) to die cut my sentiment. I then background the sentiment with a piece of Carnation cardstock to create a shadow. Lastly, I added a few clear sequins as a final touch.
