I am sharing another one of Purple Onion Designs fabulously fun Julian Charlton stamps. These endearing characters make me smile. I hope you enjoy them too.
For this card, I chose Elliot and Marcel – Hugs. I love Marcel’s monster ‘bear’ hug!
This is a clean and simple card so it starts out by stamping Marcel and Elliot on an elongated Neenah white card panel with My Favorite Things Extreme Black Hybrid ink. This ink is perfect for coloring with any alcohol markers, like Copics!
The colors I used were: W1, W3, W5, R20 for Elliot (elephant) and Marcel (monkey) was colored with YR31, YR24, Eoo, E21 and YG17.
Once Marcel and Eliot were in full color, I added three watercolor stripes, one in pink, others in yellow and lime green. You can use any watercolors you have on hand. I used Kuretake Gamsai Tambi watercolors and a wide brush and a light hand with the water since I was using Neenah white card stock.
Hint: In hindsight, I should have at least used Bristol paper (I wanted the paper very white), but this card design was evolving as I was going along – ugh! But in the end, it worked out.
Believe it or not, there were only a few things left to do! So, to finish up, I mounted a slightly larger Easter Grass grass panel on the back of the front panel. Then, the whole thing was adhered to a larger Fuchsia card base.
A few enamel dots were added and some pink silly string tied in a bow around the top of the card.
So, that’s it. This is a quick card that is full of fun and is an easy way to brighten someone’s day! ♥
