Hi Creative Friends,
I am back sharing a charming floral spray created by using the new Papertrey Ink Breathtaking Blooms. There are oodles of beautiful flowers to choose from and even some berry clusters – my favorite!
I began by cutitng out two white cardstock panels, one larger than the other and a matching card base to the largest panel. You can make the panels whatever size you like but I chose sizes 4.5″x6″ and 5″x6.5″.
Using the smaller panel, I cut an arch using the new Papertrey Ink Love To Layer: Arches. Then, dampened the back with a mist of water (the Spellbinders Mister works great for this!), placed it in the Geo Screen embossing folder and ran it through my die-cutting machine using the rubber mat. Viola! a decorative backdrop for my flowers!
Next, I created a background for the center of the arch by ink blending another panel with Saltwater Taffy distress ink and splattered droplets of Saltwater Taffy and Picked Raspberry distress inks.
Onto the flowers and leaves – I cut out all the flowers and leaves in the die set using watercolor panel, then mounted the whole thing (the negative and positive pieces) in my stamp positioner. From there, I mounted the stamps for each piece and got busy inking and stamping each pieces. A list of the ink colors used is listed in the supply list below. By the way, don’t forget to spritz now and again to allow the ink to mingle and blend.
Once all the pieces were colored, I stamped the sentiment using one from the Honey Bee Stamps Daisy Layers Bouquet stamp set. I used my fave, Versafine Black Onyx ink and cut it out using the coordinating die.
Time to start assembly! I mounted the largest panel to the card base. Then, popped up the back of the arched panel to give some dimension, then mounted the Saltwater Taffy background to back.
From there, I had to be a bit of a florist and arrange and attach the flowers and leaves using foam squares and glue. When satisfied with the arrangement, I added the sentiment and a few crystal gems to complete the picture!
There are so many ways you can use the flowers and leaves in this set. I hope you enjoyed this version and give it a try yourself! See you next time! ♥
