Hi Everyone,

Our friend and super talented Heather Telford is generously sharing another beautiful card design using the Simply Graphic By The Sea stamp. This is is so bright and cheery. It makes you yearn for the beach!

In our last post, Heather used this same stamp and made two delightful cards. If you didn’t have a chance to see them too, be sure to pop over there. Here is a quick link. Now, without further delay, here’s Heather.

Hello creative friends.

Today’s card features all four stamps from the Simply Graphic ‘Bord de Mer’ set and also features four things I love about the seaside. I was born on the island which boasts the tallest lighthouse in the Southern Hemisphere, I lived for ten years in Melbourne not far from the beautiful Brighton beach huts. I love walking on the beach in any season and swimming when the temperatures are right. This set appealed to me as soon as I saw it!

To create this grid layout card I arranged all four stamps in the stamp positioner, inked them with Versamark ink, stamped, and embossed them in gold powder on cold-pressed watercolor paper. The square stamps are just under 2″ wide so the finished card is 4¾” square. I used zig clean color real brush markers to color each scene making sure I repeated at least one color in every square so there would be cohesion across the panel. Zig clean color real brush markers are perfect for line images like these beach-themed squares. I added a few dabs or strokes of ink to the area I wanted to color then blended with water to fill the space. The pens are highly pigmented so a little ink goes a long way. You can blend the ink on the panel or on glass or acetate off to the side. I trimmed the panel and then popped it up on a couple of layers of cardstock to give it a shadow border.

Are you a beach lover or do you prefer to be inland, perhaps in the mountains? Let me know in the comments what your dream location is to live or vacation.
