Hi Crafty Friends
I am sharing a new card design where I used the Cheerful Flowers stamp and die set from Concord & 9th – Kristina Werner. They had so many awesome new goodies in this last release that I had to dive in and try a few. It was super fun to make and I love the bright and cheery flowers.
It all started by stamping the Cheerful Flowers background stamp. Even though this card design would ultimately end up as an A2-sized card, I used an oversized white card stock and stamped the Cheerful Flowers background using my stamp positioner and Concord & 9th Dove ink. With this larger panel, I could choose the part I liked the best!
Next, I trimmed the panel down to the A2 size and mounted it onto a white card stock card base.
Now on to the flowers. This Cheerful Flowers die set is very well thought out! It has a flower background die so it makes a perfect base and a detailed die for all the pieces. The flower background was cut from white card stock and the flowers were cut from various scraps of Concord & 9th’s assorted card stock. Instead of the outline of the flower and stem being the same color, I cut the flower outline in one color and the stem and leaves in a green then pieced it in. The interior pieces were cut from different colors, then shaded with an ink dauber to add more detail. Once the flowers were cut and colored, they were assembled.
The Thinking of You sentiment is included in the die set. It was cut out of the white card stock with a Dragonfruit shadow background.
The flowers were arranged and glued down. The sentiment was mounted next using a few foam squares. I cheated a little and cut half the stem of the second flower so it would extend past the sentiment.
That completes my project for today. You can see why the set is called Cheerful Flowers. No matter the colors you choose, the flowers always end up looking so fresh and well… cheerful! ♥
