Chicks, Chicks, Chicks

Chicks, Chicks, Chicks

Hi Creative Friends,

A few days ago we shared a new video introducing you to our latest addition to our shop, Pretty Pink Posh. We are delighted to welcome them. They have so many wonderful stamps, dies, stencils and embellishments. Today, just in time for Easter, we are sharing a cute card design using one of their stamps and dies called Easter Signs.

We just love the little chicks in this set and had to make a card just for them. The card design starts with a slimline white card base that is a teensy bit shorter than 8.5″ so the folded dimension was 4.25″ x 7.5″. Then, we cut a slightly smaller panel from the same white card stock.

With the basics done, we set them aside and stamped the chicks, butterflies, and pinwheel using Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink, an alcohol marker friendly ink onto some white card stock. One of the chicks is part of a sign too so when we inked the chick, we tried hard not to stamp the sign part as well.

These cute chicks and other accessories were colored with Copic markers. You can find all the colors used in the supply list below. Once all the coloring was done, we cut out all the little darlings using the matching die set.

It was time to assemble so with the previously made panel in hand, we positioned and attached the chicks in a row using a bit of foam tape behind each chick. Then, using the fine tip end of a green Tombow dual brush pen, we added a few blades of grass and filled in the spaces with a lighter Copic marker (YG03). The little butterflies were added next.

This stamp set comes complete with a few cute sentiments. We chose “Welcome Spring” and stamped it with Versafine Black Onyx ink. Next, we added a foam backing to the panel and popped it onto the white card base. For our final touch, we added a few Pretty Pink Posh pearl embellishments.

Thanks for joining us today. We hope you enjoyed this festive card design. And, if you didn’t get a chance before, be sure to check out our Pretty Pink Posh introductory video here ♥
